England Bowling Consultant Southee Uncertain on The Ashes Participation
The bowler's most recent Test match for the Kiwis was against England in the final month of 2024.
England bowling consultant Tim Southee is currently evaluating what his involvement will be at the upcoming Ashes contest in the host nation.
The ex- New Zealand pace bowler is expected to be present for the first Test due to his participation in the International League T20 tournament, which starts on December 2 in the United Arab Emirates.
The 36-year-old, 36, assumed a position as England's pace bowling advisor in the summer after taking 391 scalps in 107 Test matches for the Kiwis.
Commenting as England's squad for the opening of three T20 matches against New Zealand was announced, Southee stated of his availability: "We are still evaluating the situation at the moment.
"We will determine the outcome over the coming days."
England bowling legend Broad had stated the Australian side as their "worst team since 2010", but Southee was in little doubt over what to expect during the contest, which begins on November 21.
"In my view there's at any time a bad Aussie side," he remarked.
"The team's attention is squarely on our own objectives. I think the caliber of [the English] team that's heading out to the host country is brilliant.
"It should be an thrilling encounter, the Ashes. Not just [are|do] English and Australian people eagerly anticipate it, I think the whole cricket world is."
But, before England travel to the city of Perth for the first Ashes match, they face the Kiwis in Christchurch on this Saturday.
